Tyinkrysset - Tyin - Eidsbugarden
Petr:The plan was to get about 15 km further to Olavsbu, so the next day with two NPL summits would be easier. But it turned into a foggy, rainy day, and while running around the big Tyin lake, the skin between my legs started getting badly irritated — itchy, raw, and painful (ultra runners know the feeling). Progress slowed to a crawl; every step hurt.
I decided to stop in Eidsbugarden, take a shower at Fondsbu, and give the skin a few hours to calm down. Luckily, I had tea tree oil with me. By the next morning it was a bit better, but still painful… and I knew I had no choice. The only day to do the summits would be tomorrow.
Stina:We met twice before finishing in Eidsbugarden. The first meeting was a quick pit stop with food and some memory card backups for Petr’s cameras. After that, I stopped at a mountain seter, had a coffee, charged devices, and got some work done while the weather stayed grey and wet.
The second meeting happened because Petr messaged that he was in pain from the sore skin between his legs. He needed tea tree oil, Vaseline, and a change of clothes before pushing the last 4 km to Eidsbugarden.
We ended the day there, hoping to get to bed early in preparation for the brutal day ahead with two big summits… but in classic us style, we didn’t.
